Beyond UX: My Creative Playground

When I’m not designing user experiences, I’m painting, lettering, and illustrating — it’s one of my favorite ways to explore ideas visually and stay creatively sharp. This section showcases a collection of personal and professional creative projects, where craft, curiosity, and imagination take the lead.

Wedding Invitation Design with Floral Illustration

Goal: Create a custom wedding invitation design for Christian and Nishon that reflected their romantic, cottagecore aesthetic.

Process: After discussing their vision, I incorporated their wedding colors, personal elements like a ribbon motif, and custom peony illustrations. Drawing those florals was a joy.

Result: A deeply personal invitation design that captured their story and style.

Testimonial

"Hannah is more than just a talented designer. She is a pleasure to work with. She listened well to our description of our wedding theme and discussed our inspiration with us. She truly understood the style that we were looking for and made it easy for us to narrow down the options that she presented. The final design was colorful in all the right ways and brought out a classy, cottage feeling that all our friends instantly recognized as uniquely us. I would recommend Hannah to anyone looking for a custom card design that looks stunning.” - Christian and Nishon

“Welcome” Chalk Wreath

This hand-drawn floral wreath, created with chalk markers, greeted guests with cheerful elegance at the entrance of my home. Inspired by the botanical style of Mabz Brisson and the expressive lettering of Lisa Quine, this piece blends warm hospitality with creative flair.

“Little Wild One” Baby Shower Invitation

This custom invitation design was created for a jungle-themed baby shower, featuring hand-lettered typography and personalized illustrations of the mom-to-be’s favorite baby jungle animals. Blending playful charm with thoughtful details, the design celebrates the excitement of welcoming a “little wild one” into the world.

Trombone Duet Book Cover Illustration

Goal: Design a quirky, colorful cover for Andrew Friedrich’s trombone duet book.

Process: Andrew shared a rough concept, and I brought it to life while maintaining his playful tone.

Result: A published, one-of-a-kind book cover that mixes musicality with humor and hand-crafted charm. Can be purchased here.

Hand-Lettered Cards & Illustrations

A rotating collection of joyful, heartfelt designs—from gold foil birthday cards and leafy thank-you notes to donut-sprinkled greetings and bright sticker packs. These pieces often combine expressive hand-lettering with layered textures and bold, cheerful color palettes.
